C&D Auctions held their annual show and sale of Scotch Mule Gimmers in Dumfries on Friday 29th August 2025.

1449 forward; Gimmers were generally smaller on the year with all classes being well bid to average £265.84 up £34.16 on the year.

Champion pen from W Borthwick & Son, Shangan which sold at £275

Todays show was sponsored by Starlyne, the judging was in the capable hands of James Marshall, Hoddom & Kinmount Farms who found his Champion pen from W Borthwick & Son, Shangan which sold at £275.

Reserve Champion pen from M Rorison, Clonrae made £275. Topping the sale at £300 was a pen from Hallscaur Farming, Glenwhargen. Texel Gimmers met a sharp demands selling to £360 from W Borthwick & Son, Shangan.

C&D Auctions held their annual show and sale of Scotch Mule Ewe Lambs in Dumfries on Saturday 13th September 2025.

Mr W Haining, Dalgonar Estate and Corsefield Farming had the judging responsibilities awarding the Champion Rosette to Anderson, Guelt selling for £185. Reserve Champion pen from Hamilton, Kirkton of Crawford also realised £185. A good ringside of both local and distant bbuyers were in attendance and a level trade prevailed to average £177.47 (+£17.37).

Carruthers Farming, Merkland sold the top price pen at £200 with others to;
Texel Ewe Lambs to £250 Sloan, Broomhills.

Gimmers were keenly sought selling to £305 for Scotch Mule from Carruthers, Merkland. Breeding Ewes to £175 for 3 crop Mules from Thomson, Lanarkland.
