Judge:  Mr Dougie Fleming, Nisbet Coulter, Biggar

Champion:  George Allan, Bogside with a suckled Gimmer rearing beltex twins, she was bred by Malcolm Coubrough, Tintoside, she is out of a Midlock tup.  She was Champion last year as a Ewe Hogg.

Reserve:  John Guild, Laight Farm with Ewe hogg which was bred by J Walker, Tower

 

 

Drymen Show

Judge:  B Kerr, Sauchrie Mains

Champion and reserve inter-breed sheep:  Duke of Montrose, Gartincaber with a Ewe lamb by a £1000 Blarnavaid tup on her first outing, bred from a home-bred ewe with a Merkins sire.  She was shown by shepherd John McDougall.

Reserve:  Duke of Montrose, Gartincaber with a home-bred ewe hogg by a Dreva sire and out of a home-bred ewe.

 

Carsphairn

Judge: Mr David Bryson, Grassmillees Way

Champion:  A Shennan, Farden with Ewe Lamb, by E1 Old Tinnis, a tup that was bought at Kelso in 2013 with Scott Rorison, this was her first show outing.

Reserve:  J Guild, Laight, New Cumnock with Ewe Hogg bred by J Walker, Tower, she also stood reserve at New Cumnock previous week.

 

 

Gargunnock

Judge:  Mr G Thornborrow, Easter Dawyck

Champion:  Duke of Montrose, Gartincaber with a ewe lamb, by a £1,000 Blarnavaid out of home-bred ewe by a Merkins sire, she then went on and won the sheep inter-breed.

Reserve:  D Rock, Knock O’Ronald with a Ewe with twin lambs.

 

Campsie

Judge:  J Robertson, The Beeches, Crosswoodhill

Champion:  J Campbell, Shields, Milton of Campsie with a home-bred ewe lamb by a £900 Blarnavaid tup and out of a home-bred gimmer.

Reserve:  D Henderson, Auchenrivoch with a home-bred ewe lamb.

 

 

Stirling

Judge: J Mitchell, Deansto Gardens, Doune

Champion:  K, A and R Campbell, Drimsynie with a home-bred Gimmer by Midlock Super Ali out of a home-bred dam.

Reserve:  H Gray, Drumnessie, Banton with a pen of three ewe lambs

 

 

Straiton Show

Judge:  Mr Robin Bell, Upper Dallarg, Dalry

Champion:  A Shennan, Farden with a ewe lamb on her first show outing, she is by E1 Old Tinnis and out of a Barhaskine-bred ewe.

Reserve:  S Rorison, Dallowie with a gimmer bought at Castle Douglas Ewe lamb sale last year from Donald Smith, Lowes, she is by a Cottage-bred tup.

 

 

East Kilbride Show

Judge:  Mr Stevie Guild, Ashmark

Champion:  J Campbell, Shields, Milton of Campsie with a Ewe Lamb off a £900 Blarnavaid and out of a home-bred gimmer, she went on and won the Sheep Inter-breed Champion

Reserve:  John Guild, Laight with a Ewe Hogg bred by J Walker, Tower.

 

Doune and Dunblane Show

Judge:  J Bell, Whelphill

Champion:  K, A & R Campbell, Drimsynie with their Stirling Show champion and reserve at the Highland was home-bred gimmer by Midlock Super Ali out of a home-bred ewe. Reserve:  Duke of Montrose, Gartincaber with a ewe lamb

 

Dalkeith Show

Judge:  J Herdman, Edlingham

Champion:  H & C Seymour, Stobo Home Farm with a gimmer bought from Loch Lyoch flock as a ewe lamb, sixth in her class at the highland and presented by Garry McDonald, she is a Mid Auchengray sire and out of a Craigdarroch ewe.

Reserve:  Mrs K Dun, Gilston with last year’s Champion, a one crop ewe by a privately bought Midlock sire which also came second at the highland show.

 

Dalrymple Show

Judge:  Sam Rae, Dalmellington

Champion:  G W Allan, Bogside with a gimmer bred by John Park, Dalpeddar by a Barley C1 and out of a home-bred ewe.

Reserve:  J Guild, Laight with a seven year old Ewe bred by J Walker, Tower

 

Fenwick Show

Judge:  Scott Rorison, Dallowie

Champion: S & P Heads, Aitkenhead with a ewe lamb out of a home-bred ewe by a Macqueston tup which was bought at Castle Douglas.

Reserve:  J Guild, Laight with a gimmer bred by J Walker, Tower

 

 

Biggar Show

Judge:  A Shennan, Farden

Champion:  J Cunningham with a ewe lamb, out of a Gosland-bred mother, she is by a Midlock lamb bought at Castle Douglas last year for £2200

Reserve:  J Warnock & Sons, Dreva with a Ewe

 

 

Kelso Show

Judge:  D Sandilands, Threepwood

Champion: J Herdman, Edlingham with an April born ewe lamb by a home-bred son of a Hundith sire out of a home-bred ewe.  She was on her first show outing and being sold at Hexham.

Reserve:  JW Fullerton, Corsbie with a three-crop ewe bred at Newbiggin Walls and bought as a ewe lamb.  She is by a £19,000 Midlock and stood champion at Westruther and Yetholm last year.

 

 

 

Braco Show

Judge:  D Gray, Kilsyth

Champion:  J Campbell, Shields with a March born ewe lamb which stood inter-breed champion at East Kilbride and breed champion at Campsie

Reserve:  W Adam, Shankhead with a pen of three ewe lambs

 

Stranraer Show

Judge:  Scott Rorison, Dallowie

Champion:  A McQuistin, Barnshangan with a ewe lamb on her first outing, by a home-bred son of a Breckhouse sire retained for breeding out of a Garvilland-bred ewe.

Reserve:  W & R Kerr, Sauchrie Mains with the second prize ewe lamb to the champion which took the same award at the highland.  She is by a home-bred son of a Z40 Midlock sire and out of a home-bred ewe.

 

Dumfries Show

Judge:  N Martson, Millstonemoor

Champion:  J Guild, Laight with a gimmer bought privately from J Walker, Tower as a ewe Lamb.

Reserve:  W Lockhart & Co., Culdoach with a march born ewe lamb by a £2300 Forebrae sire out of home-bred ewe by a £1200 Craignell sire.  She stood third in her class at the highland.

 

Duns Show

Judge:  S McIntosh, Outer Huntly

Champion:  J W Fullarton and Sons, Corsbie with their three-crop ewe, she was reserve at Kelso the previous week.

Reserve:  S Ainslie, Linkshead with a ewe lamb.

 

 

Lorne Show

Champion:  J & M Turner, Kildaloig with a gimmer by a Cottage sire and out of a Dalchirla-bred ewe

Reserve:  J & M Turner, Kildaloig with a ewe lamb by a home-bred son of a Blarnavaid sire and out of a Dalchirla-bred ewe.

 

Stewartry Show

Judge:  Mr J Sinclair, Crookston

Champion:  R McKie, Finniness with a J Park, Forebrae bred ewe lamb out of a High Creoch bred mother, this was her first show outing.

Reserve:  W Lockhart & Co., Culdoach with the second prize ewe lamb, she was by a £2300 Forebrae sire and out of a home-bred ewe by a £1200 Craignell Tup.  She was third at the highland and stood reserve at Dumfries the previous week.

 

Wigtown Show

Judge:  J Bell, Whelphill

Champion:  J & W Wilson, Kirkmabreck with a group of three ewe lambs.  One was bred by Barlaes sire and the other two from a Forebrae sire.

Reserve:  LW & MJ Parker, Old Hall with a three-crop ewe by Reddings X22, she is out of a Craig, Stration-bred mother.  She won numerous shows in 2013.

 

 

Mid Argyll Show

Judge:  R Wilson, Carrholme

Champion:  J & M Turner, Kildalloig with a Ewe lamb by a home-bred son of a £900 Blarnavaid sire and out of a Dalchirla ewe.

Reserve:  J & M Turner, Kildalloig with a one-crop ewe by a Cottage sire and out of a Dalchirla ewe.  She was Champion here last year.

 

Glenkens Show

Judge:  R Bell, Lady’s Well House

Champion:  R McKie, Finniness with a ewe lamb by a John Park Forebrae sire, out of a High Creoch-bred mother, she won Stewartry days previous to this

Reserve:  R McKie, Finniness with the second prized ewe lamb by a D5 Odd Acres and out of a Duchrie-bred ewe

 

Colmonell Show

Judge:  N Donnan, Knockiebae

Champion:  J Guild, Laight with a gimmer bred by J Walker, Tower. She was champion the week before at Dumfries.

Reserve:  G W Allan, Bogside with a Ewe bred by A Lockhart, Laggan Park.  She was Overall Sheep Champion at Coylton Show in 2013 as a Gimmer.  Sired by Otterburn Lodge and out of a home-bred ewe.

 

Coylton Show

Judge:  A Shennan, Farden

Champion:  George Allan, Bogside with a one-crop Ewe bred by Malcolm Coubrough from a Midlock tup, bought as Ewe lamb and has been champion at Ayr and New Cumnock in 2013 and New Cumnock this year.

Reserve:  J Guild, Laight with a gimmer bred by J Walker, Tower, she was Champion at Dumfries and Colmonnell.

 

Peebles Show

Champion:  J Wight & Sons, Midlock with a ewe lamb by a home-bred son of a C63 Midlock, retained for breeding, and out of a home-bred ewe.

Reserve:  J Warnock & Sons, Dreva with a home-bred gimmer by a Dreva son of Mereoak ram out of a home-bred ewe.

 

Abington Show

Judge:  J Pirie, Blarnavaid

Champion:  J & J Cunningham, Parkgatestone with a Ewe lamb that won at Biggar.  She is by a Midlock sire that was bought for £2000 at Castle Douglas and out of a Gosland-bred mother.

Reserve:  TW Hamilton, Kirkton of Crawford with a Ewe

 

Muirkirk Show

Judge:  W Linton, Woodend

Champion:  G W Allan, Bogside with a one-crop Ewe bred by A Lockhart, Laggan Park, she is by a Otterburn Lodge sire and was overall sheep champion at Coylton in 2013 and sixth at the Highland and reserve at Colmonell this year.

Reserve:  J Guild, Laight with a gimmer bred by J Walker, Tower.  She was Champion at Dumfries and Colmonell this year.
